This week's fear was not born in a town hall, or a construction site, or a utility bill. It was born in a newsroom, on a deadline, in a word. Not the thing — the name. And once the name caught, even the wolves stopped touching it. Here's how a machine runs when the enemy is a dictionary.
Somewhere, a newsroom. A deadline. One word gets chosen — because words are always chosen.
Not what a data center is. Not what it does. The word. And words travel faster than facts, every time.
Don't outlaw the name. Don't outlaw the box. Find the real pain — the noise, the water, the power, the traffic — and put the rules around that. If a place causes none of that pain, then what it's called shouldn't matter at all.
When did you last fear a word instead of a thing?
Next issue, when it's ready.
Same farm. New word. Same machine.
